SANITATION DEPARTMENT
The Berne Sanitation Department is responsible for weekly residential and business trash pickup, twice yearly heavy trash pickup and the distribution of dumpster rentals.
As established by city ordinance, trash must be placed curbside by 7:00 am on the day of your pick up in a leak-proof container of 30 - gallon capacity with a maximum weight of 60 pounds when full.
2024 Heavy Trash Pickup
Our Heavy trash pickup takes place twice a year! Place allowed items curbside the morning of your regular trash pick-up.
No hazardous materials or e-waste are allowed including TV's computers, computer screens, no railroad timbers, landscaping timbers, tires.
Spring – week of April 22nd on your normal day of pickup.
Fall – week of September 23rd on your normal day of pickup.
