Gwen Maller has been a life long resident of the City of Berne. She is married to Larry Maller and they have four children between them. Kelly Maller, Celina, Ohio; Chris (Daniece) Maller, Van Wert, Ohio; Mistylee (Derek) Taylor and Ashley Armstrong, Berne. She has one grand daughter, Sydney Ryan, who is five years old and a lot of fun to be with.
Gwen graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Ball State University. Gwen passed the Certified Public Accountant exam in May of 1990. Gwen was employed in the tax department of George S. Olive & Co. for one and a half years before accepting the invitation to run for the office of Clerk-Treasurer. She has been the Clerk-Treasurer since January 1, 1992 being the first woman and Republican to hold the office.
Gwen is also the Treasurer of the Berne CDC, a nonprofit organization that is doing revitalization projects in the City. The main project at this time is the Muensterberg Plaza and Clock Tower located at the corner of US 27 and State Road 218 (Main Street).
Gwen attends the Grace Bible Church and has been the church treasurer for many years. She is active with the children's ministries providing support and teaching during the summer months.
Gwen loves to read, swim, water ski and boat with the family. The family also enjoys NASCAR racing.
